Welcome to the website of King's College London Engineering Society.
The start of this year is not like the start of any other year for the Engineering Department due to the coming demise of the Division of Engineering. How does this affect the KCLES this year? Not much at all! We are of course very upset about the news but the society still has a role to fill as a service provider for its members as a contributor to student life!
Check this page regularly for updates! Under 'Events' you can see a calendar with the... well... events.

We're in a very active time of the KCL Engineering Society! The Football tournament on Monday was won by the reigning champions of Julio's team. The team consisting of Julio Roldao, Uttam Kewal (Varun), Maina Thea, Nitersh Suntharesh, Ozair Afridi and Santiago (all 3rd year students). In all honesty, they were worthy champions as they had full control of each match if not displayed a course on how to thrash opponents. Pictures from the tourney will be up soon!
The Pool tournament last week was won, again, by the reigning champion Stavros! Despite the hype preceeding the tourney about Dr. Alty seeking his revenge from the defeat last year, Stavros was superior. Stavros eliminated Dr. Alty in the quarter-finals. Dr. Alty was leading with 1 - 0 in frames and a decent chance to pot the winner in the second frame. However, the chance was bottled and Stavros could clear his last colour and pot the black to draw 1 - 1. Dr. Alty had the match in his hands yet again in the deciding frame with only the black to pot against Stavros' three colours. Many a wise man have claimed that "it's all 'bout the comeback" and Stavros proved the theory correct by winning. He later beat Justin and Kevin on his way to the trophee. We will all have a chance to beat Stavros again in February for the second pool tournament.
Look out for more events. There will be badminton (followed by a pub crawl) within the next two weeks as well as lots of Guest lecturers from the industry! Engineers Without Borders (EWB) @ King's are launching next Tuesday! Have a look at their poster on our Careers section and get in touch with them!
FINALLY: You may have seen our posters around campus about the ENGINEERING XMAS PARTY! There will be talent acts, Students vs. Lecturers quiz, Bursary awards ceremonies, presentations of the mini-projects and a few other surprises ;)
Oh, and did I mention the £100 prize for the best talent act? The £100 prize for the best mini-project? Or even the money we put behind the bar?
The party will be held at Tutu's on Tuesday December 15th. Be there. For more information, check out the facebook event. Get in touch with Maryam (mini-projects) or Sunny (talent acts).
